A beautiful new beginning, bespoke mural painting

Hello everyone, this is Jacob James Neagle, an award-winning professional fine artist with over 20 years of experience creating commissioned fine art. I recently started a new branch of my company, Jacob Event Painting, offering high-end interior mural painting for clients in Florida, the United States, and worldwide. I collaborate with interior designers and high-end homeowners to create custom interior murals that harmonize with their current space.

Over 20 years ago, I began painting murals, several of which are still displayed at my high school in rural Maine. During my sophomore year, a visit to the Boston Museum of Fine Arts inspired me to become a traditional painter. I was captivated by a 16th-century Flemish oil painting, Forest Scene with Hunters, which shaped my artistic journey.

I later attended Ringling College of Art and Design in Sarasota, Florida. During my senior year, I took an independent study course with world-renowned traditional oil painter Hodges Soileau, who taught me traditional landscape and naturalistic painting skills. I remember creating a birch tree painting and thinking, "If only I could figure out a way to paint trees for a living." Hodges replied, "That would be the ideal life."

Fast forward 15 years, and here I am, merging my initial inspiration with my current work. My bespoke mural painting, showcased in the photo below, reflects that inspiration. The mural features a castle in the distance, an enchanted forest, and a shepherd leading 12 sheep. In addition, I incorporated my own subject matter for this mural, which showcases a total of 12 sheep (not all shown in the pic above), and their shepherd, who is carefully leading them out of the forest and the glade they presumably came from. These newly added subject matter, are a small reflection of my personal faith, which I hope shows in a naturalistic and tactful way to its viewers. This mural, created with a limited color palette, aims to create a peaceful and harmonious space.
